Life is all about relationships

I was watching Mrs Brown’s boys tonight … and at the end the words “life is all about relationships” were uttered from Mrs B’s charming mouth.

It got me thinking ….

Life IS all about relationships .. we start our lives bonding and forming relationships with our parents, our siblings, our family, until we reach the age where we begin to make choices in our relationships, who our friends are, who our best friends are … who our crushes are ..

Each relationship we have is not always the right or best relationship, but it is a relationship that serves it’s purpose at that time.   Sometimes these relationships (as friends or lovers) do last the tests of time … sometimes not.

Sometimes relationships break down because it is all to easy to forget that a relationship of any kind is based on team work – on two people, who have to take responsibility for their actions and the reactions that they might cause.

A successful relationship will only work if two people are realistic enough to understand that nothing is ever perfect, you will disagree, you will argue, you will cry, you will get angry.   You will also agree, smile, laugh, love and will find a peace in you that is too special to lose.

Out with the old….

This time of year can be a mixture of nostalgia and excitement for many of us.

As Christmas and New Year approaches the different situations we find ourselves in can sometimes prove to be a hard time for many, especially if they find themselves on their own over this period.

This is a time for memories, of Christmas’s past, of old friendships and for some, old relationships.   BUT more importantly it is a time to remember for NOW….. the past will never come back, it is dead and gone and merely exists as a memory, a mix of happy and sad for some.  The present is your future memories.. make the most of today and don’t keep looking over your shoulder.  The future, well .. that has yet to be written but you will never move forward if you keep looking back.

Acceptance of change and being able to let go of the past is a difficult thing for many to do.    For some the hurt and grief is too much to accept and that is understandable.. we have all been there at some point in our lives BUT the best gift you can give yourself this year would be to take that first step forward.    Accept your past, enjoy your present and look forward to your future.

I wish you all that this Christmas and New Year … exciting times lie ahead for all of us, if we are just brave enough to open our arms to it.

Faith makes all things possible
Hope makes all things work
Love makes all things beautiful
May you have all the three for this Christmas.

Sometimes I feel I just can’t win ..

Life is never an easy path to tread but sometimes, during the more bumpy times, emotions are dragged through the hay backwards and can come out frazzled and a bit of a mess.

No matter what I say or do .. I am wrong ..  I can’t win.

I am misunderstood, I misunderstand….

Sometimes you just have to give up, do nothing and wait for the dust to settle.

Maybe then we can call it a draw!
