Mortality
May 23, 2019
In the last few weeks three friends have taken their final stand downs. Each death has been unexpected and a terrible shock.
I only found out about the third tonight… she was actually an ex girlfriend from my army days… and a good pal since then.
Tonight I feel sad and a bit weepy and glad I have Ros by my side. RIP Annie… one of the few people to ever run rings around me on a hockey pitch!
Flitting!
May 21, 2019
We are half way through Ros’s flit to her new flat…. just a few more boxes to pick up and that should be her done…. and I’m looking forward to our first night there… the views across the Forth to Arthur’s Seat are magnificent… and it was lovely to sit on the balcony watching ships sail up the Forth.
We are off on our first holiday together soon…which includes a weekend activity meet up with a lesbian group… we are Rage Buggying, being let loose on the Archery range and having a group bbq… but will also have a few days to explore the Shrewsbury area… really looking forward to it!
I’ve been quiet…
May 13, 2019
There has been a few things going on that made me step back from life and think about the knock on effects that people have on our life… and how we sometimes miss the subtle signals that should make us take time to understand and listen to people.
Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of people out there who say and do things to excuse their bad behaviour (I found that out!) … and because we are so used to this, we tend to ignore or miss the signs of the one’s who really do need help.
Honesty and truthfulness is a rare things these days … and I have to say I was the most sceptical of people especially after the lies from my ex and 2 really bad dating experiences … I had given up … happy to stick to friends and chat to people on line … then I met Ros … I have to smile now when I think of the times I said to my friends “I want someone just like my ex … but honest” … I didn’t think she existed … Im glad to say she does and is a huge part of my life now.
Who would have thought …
