Oh! you ladies of the WRAC
What have you managed to do to me
I have no voice, my nose is snotty
I can’t control what is coming out my botty ….
But as I sit and think about the weekend past
My face begins to smile and I start to laugh
The jokes, the songs and hugs at parting
Not to mention the unlady like farting ….
It took us back, it made us smile
and made the hangovers so worthwhile!
So until Fort William or next years DC

I was watching TV today and came upon an advert featuring Dick Fosbury (of Fosbury Flop fame).
It got me thinking.
I have achieved much in my life. I have also lost much.
Through it all I have learned lessons, broken hearts, had my heart broken and grown as a person.
What was important to me when I was younger has changed from being rich and successful to being happy and peaceful.
I no longer want the dream. I want the truth. I want a relationship where a partner doesn’t just say things .. but actually does mean them. Someone who knows how to love, how to appreciate me for all my good points and my bad points. Someone who knows the difference between being alone and being lonely.
.. and most importantly someone who understands what being in a relationship and being a partner is all about.. someone who can appreciate that I becomes we.
The simple things .. the open and honest things. The right things.

An older blog that has a sudden flurry of interest with lots of hits over the past couple of weeks … not sure why .. but thought would reblog

We probably all have heard of the “butterfly” quote .. it is also known as the Chaos Theory.
I prefer to look at it differently.
Our actions, no matter how small can have a lasting effect on others.
Cruel people bring sadness and hurt into other’s lives through jealousy or rage and never seem to appreciate the damage that they leave in their trail, they are blind to it because of their own inability to feel things deeply.
Those of us who have been deeply hurt appreciate how our actions and words do have to be “carefully chosen” at times, often a kind word or compliment can really touch the heart and hope of someone who may be drowning in their own emotions.

Following on from a question on one of the facebook groups tonight … a question was asked .. “what is your idea of love?”
It is a very difficult question to answer as there are many types of love. We are capable of loving people in very different ways, from the love we have for our family, the love for our friends or the love that can break our hearts.
Even a romantic love cannot be parceled up and put in a box. I have had various lovers over the years that I have loved, but I have never loved the any of them in the same way.
I probably have a very boring view of love. The passion and the drama are exciting at first but I soon tire of it and it is when this dies down that I begin to love, or not, as the case may be.
For me I need a love that gives me peace. A love that is independent and true. No drama, reliable, comfortable. The sort of love where you can sit in silence doing nothing and being perfectly happy. The sort of love when you think “we” instead of “I” and you feel comfortable in planning ahead.
A partnership of peace and contentment.
Too boring for some I know. But perfect for me.

Normally when I can’t sleep it is to do with the thoughts that explode in my head .. last night it was my legs …
I do occasionally have restless legs at night … but last night was ridiculous … I was up until after 4am .. and could I sleep .. could I heck!!
It was after 1am when I got home .. and thinking back when I was out I did have a lot of sugary stuff (cake, biscuits and drinks) and I think this may be the problem …
Whatever the reason, I am totally tired out today … thankfully I have a free day .. no plans at all … so I am having a chill out day with the cat and dog .. which is actually quite nice on this rainy miserable day!
I am off on holiday on Saturday .. and I am looking forward to it .. I am also looking forward to coming back and getting started with the business … if you haven’t checked my website out yet it is http://www.celebrantscotland.com
I just hope my bliddy legs behave themselves tonight!!!

I was reading one of the blogs I follow today www.gailsforum.com and she has listed 20 things that “happy people” have in common.
I read the list and (like Gail!) discovered that all of them (apart from 17!) are things that I do! and number 17 is something that I want to improve on. I gave up smoking a month ago and the next priority is booking water aerobic classes and getting on my bike! (my back does not allow me to walk as far as I would like to!)…
So … have a wee read through the list … it is quite interesting!

Forgiveness is a process of giving up the old for something new. Old experiences and memories that we hold on to in anger, resentment, shame, or guilt cloud our spirit mind. The truth is, everything that has happened had to happen. It was a growth experience. There was something you needed to know or learn. If you stay angry, hurt, afraid, ashamed, or guilty, you miss the lesson. You will be stuck in a cloud of pain.

lt can be more than that. You know what l envy about people in love?

True love has spiritual dimensions, while romantic love is a lie.
A myth. A soulless manipulation. And speaking of manipulation …

The music swells, and we buy it, right?
So when my date kisses me, and l don’t hear strings, l dump him.
The question is, why do we buy it?
Because, myth or manipulation, we all want to fall in love.
That experience makes us feel completely alive.

l think it’s because, as some of you may already know …
