I feel deeply and I think deeply. This is both a curse and a blessing.
I sometimes step back from delving deep into my thoughts and feelings, just leaving them lying dormant behind a wall of keeping myself busy so my thoughts and focus are on anyone or anything apart from me.
This is my self preservation. My comfort blanket that stops the hurt and sometimes negative thoughts and doubt from over whelming me.
I know I close down, I know I exist instead of live. I know all this, but still I do it, it’s my way.
Then something simple happens, a conversation with a kindred spirit, who understands what it is like to face deep thoughts… and suddenly my own deep thoughts don’t feel so overwhelming… and all of a sudden I can really think again… and it is not as scary or painful as I thought it would be.
The waves of hurt that used to crash down on me have ebbed… calm shores have returned and I’m so relieved.
Life still has much to offer and although I still doubt I have the emotional strength or will to ever want a partner or a relationship again, I realise that there are still great people out there that can touch my life in a special way and right now, that’s huge!

Today is a huge day for two of my closest and most loved friends.
Today their lives may change forever .. and I wish with all my heart that it does!
I will mention no names .. but people who know them will know who I talking about, and appreciate how much love and care these two very special women have, not just for each other, but for all of us who are lucky enough to class them as friends.
Today is the first day of Spring .. (even though I am currently looking out of my window at snow!) .. and I hope that after today your lives are spent frolicking like wee lambs in a field!
I hope that the next time we meet will be for a huge celebration … you both certainly deserve all the happiness you can find.
You are much loved by all of us … walk tall, walk proud, you are simply the best!

As some of you know I am off to Chester to meet a group of girls from Pink Sofa. I am really really looking forward to it.
I have been to many meets in the past, mainly from the old Utopia boards off AOL and from these meets I have met wonderful women who are now truly friends in the real world as well as on line.
This weekend I will be able to catch up with Sandra and Erica (the Lornes!) in Chester, it has been too long (my fault!) and I’m really looking forward to catching up with them as well as meeting new friends.
Over the years I have laughed, cried, fumed and swore at some of the antics of people online, but more than that I have appreciated the times when things have not always been great for me and people have listened, made me laugh and generally felt much better about myself.
I have attended “virtual” discos.. stripped nekkid and run through chat rooms and generally made a complete arse of myself, but I have loved these moments .. I still say Fihs instead of Fish .. I still say Sheepies and Teefies and I still use the word nekkid! All of which I have picked up from online carry on’s!
Sure there are one or two people who abuse friendship online (and in real life) but on the whole the gals I’ve met are a great bunch. For those of you I haven’t met yet .. Im looking forward to it.. some of you make me guffaw out loud (not very lady like I know!) and I really do want to meet you all!
Relationships and friendships do start on line .. time is the great decider of whether they last or not, but one thing I do know, most friendships outlast relationships!
Have a great weekend this weekend gals, I will miss you … in my own strange way (but not as strange as Meg (one of my new online friends) as she likes to poke dead things with a stick) <grin>
