I had a lovely wee surprise when I came home from work tonight.
It was only a silly little thing, but something that really made me smile!
The wee girl up the lane from me (I think she is 10) posted a letter through my door.
It’s the wee things in life I like .. I’m not terribly materialistic (although I do appreciate nice things!) but it’s the simple “heartfelt” things that mean the most.
I will treasure this ..

For me I think we miss so many of life’s simple gifts because we, as a society, have become too suspicious and cynical. When presented with simple gifts we tend to pick them up, examine, put them down, we question, we ‘google’, we pick them up, we look, we leave them, we come back to them,,,,and so on. Rarely these days do we just ‘accept’ that we have been given a simple gift in some form or other, whether it be a kind word, a thoughtful gesture or good deed. This is how we make life ‘complicated’ and so miss the truly wondrous things that can happen in our daily lives, these things, if noticed, could make the world of difference to the way we act or think if only we did notice or accept readily!
