Brae. A gay woman's tale!

Just my pictures to be hung tomorrow!  I’m delighted with it … I was sick of the bloody bird wallpaper!  (Never really liked it anyway!) … now my bedroom and office are the way I want them and I’m chuffed to bits!  The wallpaper looks darker in the photo’s .. it is a mix of dark green, turquoise, grey and black.

And now I’m loving the right person…

Our first Fife Inbetweeners meet at our new venue!

Fife Inbetweeners is a wee woman’s group that I run for Gay and Bi women … our name comes from the fact that we are between two similar groups, Outskirts Social in Dundee and Rubyfruits in Edinburgh.

For the past couple of years, through losing our previous venue due to the pub changing hands, we have struggled to find somewhere to go and meet socially, but now we have found somewhere … a small cafe that will be ours for the evening and our monthly meetings on the last Friday of the month, will have a “themed meal” at a really reasonable cost (3 courses between £10 and £15 depending on what is being served!).

Tonight we had our first meeting there, Burns Night … complete with Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and poetry from Linda! … it was a great evening and I am looking forward to our next meet up when the theme is “Retro” complete with Prawn Cocktail, Chicken in a basket and Black Forest Eton Mess!

I have made a decision today to alter my date for stopping smoking … I had originally picked 14th February (Valentines Day) … but today I’ve decided to stop on the 1st of February.

The 1st has negative connotations for me … and so I have decided to turn it into a positive day … out with the old and in with the new and all that …

I am a bit frustrated that this week I have not been able to do much exercise … I have been far too busy and needed every spare minute for writing … next week is looking busy but more manageable and I will pick it up again then … I am also due to pop into the local health club to visit and join … the improvement in my back has really opened up my life again … it feels great to be able to do what I want to do instead of making up excuses because of my back.

My life is mine again … I’m going to live it!

Oh my goodness, I have had a couple of really busy days … beyond busy really … and the next week is looking exactly the same … again I am having to work all weekend, but having a wee night out with some pals on Friday for a “Burns Night” … so that should be a good laugh!

My house is chaos at the moment, my bedroom and office are being decorated and I have to shuffle past moved stuff to get to my laptop and printers … getting into bed is much the same … but only 2 days before it is finished and I will be smiling again … it is looking very classy and fabulous so far!

My car goes into the garage tomorrow too… to get the bump on the side sorted out … which means I have 2 days of driving around in my mums wee banger … I hope it gets me to Perth and back ok … it will be the longest run it will have had in years!

It is 9.30pm … and I am exhausted … time for bed I think! … now to try to find it …

So, today is meant to be the most depressing day of the year.   The aftermath of Christmas and New Year … and all the joy (and in some cases alcohol) that fills the mind!

Personally,  I have been in a bloody good mood all day … the turn of the year certainly brought a chance of mood and outlook for me … all is well in my wee world!   It is all quite exciting really.
